Omron Electronic Components manufactures a wide range of non-Amplified Photomicrosensors.  The infared emitter / detector pairs are contained in a compact single housing, designed to detect the presence or absence of objects, along with the speed or direction of a rotating object.  Sensor types include Transmissive, Reflective, Transistor Output, Photo-IC Output, and PCB or Panel Mount.
