Omron has announced the latest in their line of FPC/FFC (Flexible Printed Circuit/Flexible Flat Cable) connectors, the XF3M. The design of the new connectors goes well beyond simple interfacing, with features that speed interconnection, and lock the FPC or FFC in place for reliability.
Models are currently available from 6 to 60 contacts for the 0.5mm pitch versions and 4 to 30 contacts for the 1.0 mm pitch versions. An 80 contact version of XF3M for the 0.5mm pitch will be available soon. The XF3M was designed to be used with 0.3mm thickness FPC/FFC.
Omron originated the first connector with a rotary backlock in 1998 and has more experience than any other company in the design and manufacture of backlocking FPC/FFC connectors.
