The BCP 1K-27CB series rugged industrial-quality battery charger assists vehicle warm-up during extremely cold weather. Typically permanently installed on a vehicle, this charger is activated on days when the ambient temperature drops below 0°C. It accepts 115-Vac nominal input (100 to 132-Vac range) and delivers 27.5 Vdc at 36 A for float charging a 24-Vdc battery.
The battery charger provides sufficient power to keep essential on-board equipment and heater fans operational during the vehicle warm-up period. It operates from –40° to 50°C cold plate temperature. Cooling is by conduction via baseplate to a chassis wall and by additional convection. The enclosure measures 5.5 x 6.5 x 14 in. and weighs approximately 10 lbs.
