Opteron server CPUs offer high efficiency

The sixteen core 6370P and twelve core 6338P microprocessors target enterprise server applications. Operating at 2.0 or 2.3 GHz the CPUs take only 99 W, and they feature turbo modes to 2.8 GHz.

The chips have a 1866 MHz DDR3 controller for LV, ULV, and LRDIMM memory, 8 or 6 two Mbyte L2 caches, and a 16 Mbyte L3 cache. They are built with 32-nm silicon-on-insulator technology and have four x16 HyperTransport links, at up to 6.4 GT/s, per link. They come in a 1944-pin organic land grid array (Socket G34) and interface to the SP5100 SouthBridge.
