Optical drive smart hub works wirelessly

The Optical Smart Hub SE-208BW optical disc drive is used for wireless backing up and accessing of pictures, movies, MP3s, and data files on tablet, smartphone, and smart TVs – up to four devices simultaneously. The unit acts like a Wi-Fi cloud system and allows CD and DVD writing function without ever turning on a desktop or notebook.

The hub has wireless, Ethernet, USB connectivity and apps make it easily useable on smartphones. For TV’s with DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatibility, the unit has apps, such as Allshare, which enables users to view drive content through the TV menu and to play multimedia files. Performing as a Digital Media Server, the unit is intended be a keystone of home entertainment, providing a connection between mobile devices and TV or PC, and also a triangular connection among TVs, PCs and mobile devices. It handles 24X CD-ROM, 24X CD-RW, 8X DVD reading and 8X DVD±R, 5X DVD-RAM, 6X DVD+R Dual Layer, 6X DVD-R Dual Layer, 8X DVD+RW, 6X DVD-RW formats. ($130 available 1st qtr.)
