Opto isolator protects RS-422 interfaces
The Model 281 RS-422 opto isolator provides a full-duplex data and
control link for RS-422 signals. The device eliminates electrical noise
that might prevent effective communication between equipment. The Model
281 has two full-duplex, optically isolated signal paths for data, TD and
RD, and a control signal pair that can support RTS/CTS or DTR/DCD.
Selection of the signal pair is via internal jumpers. Data rates of up
to 19,200 bits/s are possible with up to 500 V of isolation. Male and
female DB-25 connectors are used for the DCE and DTE ports, respectively,
and the wiring complies to EIA-530. All necessary power is derived from
the signals applied to the port connectors. ($158–stock to 3 weeks.)
