12.5-in.-long external antenna provides VSWRs of less than 2:1 for Orbcomm subscribers

Measuring 12.5 (L) x 3.0 (W) x 2.2 (H) in., the Phantom VG external antenna for Orbcomm applications provides a VSWR of less than 2:1—presented as the industry’s best performance at that size. The omnidirectional, bar-style antenna uses field-diversity technology to improve RF performance compared with standard Orbcomm antennas—typically stainless-steel whips as long as 50 in. with VSWRs as high as 3:1—for vehicles in truck and marine transport, railway cars, mobile VHF, and amateur radios.

The antenna’s field-diversity technology enables a full spherical radiation pattern that overcomes transmission nulls and gaps typical to conventional Orbcomm antennas. Power-handling capability is 40 W.

The antenna can be mounted either horizontally or vertically using screw-on bolts or adhesive padding. The antenna also comes with back or side-cable exit configurations.
