The ZXGD3102 active ORing controller chip enables shared power systems to replace heat-dissipating blocking diodes with high-efficiency MOSFETs. It suits up-time-critical telecom, server, and mainframe applications.
The controller chip is designed to control MOSFETs in high-reliability n+1 redundant power systems. It has an input-voltage-blocking capacity of 180 V. Sinking a peak turn-off current of 5 A, the gate drive can achieve a typical MOSFET turn-off time of 160 ns. The controller uses a 5 to 15-V bias rail, and is housed in an SM8 package.
