The Comcerto 100 series dual-core packet processors for residential, small-to-midsize businesses, and enterprise networks combine a high-performance VPN/WAN router platform with a low-latency voice subsystem. The device architecture includes a pair of 450-MHz ARM 11 processors, a security engine, 64 Kbytes of SRAM, a 128-Kbyte L2 cache, plus a 64-bit wide 165-MHz multilayer interconnect bus and QoS and traffic management capabilities.

The chips’ interfaces include dual Gigabit Ethernet, PCI, dual USB 2.0 with PHYs, TDM, Utopia L2, and a DDR2 SDRAM controller. The PBGA672-packaged ICs run OpenWrt Linux distribution and feature advanced DMA engines for each I/O block with built-in buffers, CRC calculations, and VPI/VCI lookup.
