June 19, 2013 (CHICAGO) – Last week, Palladium Energy, Inc. (Palladium), a leading manufacturer of custom lithium-based battery packs, battery chargers and power supplies, expanded its engineering research and development capabilities by adding a new Engineering and Technology Center of Excellence. The 6,000-sq.-ft expansion gives Palladium more than 10,000 sq ft of engineering and testing space under one roof. Located in the company’s Woodridge, IL, headquarters and the former home of Argonne National Laboratory, the world-class facility provides Palladium the additional resources needed to innovate the power solutions industry into the future.
Recently, Palladium’s employees, partners and customers got their first look at this next-generation addition, which features a secure research and development area and state-of-the-art testing lab. This expansion is co-located with Palladium’s manufacturing operation enabling rapid prototyping and quick delivery of large to small volume Made-in-America power solutions.
Palladium’s Engineering and Technology Center of Excellence will serve as the company’s United States research and development hub, collaborating with nearly 100 degreed engineers, including four PhDs around the globe, to solve its customers’ portable power needs. The battery packs and chargers developed in the facility will power military electronics, medical and industrial devices, data center uninterruptible power systems, consumer electronics, and medium-to-large-format battery systems.
“We go to market as experts, partnering with our customers to help them differentiate themselves in the marketplace,” said John Gatti, Palladium’s president and chief executive officer. “We’ve remained committed to this principle for nearly 40 years. This represents another major investment and further reaffirms our commitment to engineering and technology as the cornerstone of our strategy and our partnership with customers.”
