Panasonic enhances hybrid capacitor portfolio

Panasonic’s ZTU hybrid capacitor series meets demanding applications with higher reliability and ruggedness.

Panasonic Industry has extended the performance specifications of its conductive polymer hybrid aluminum-electrolytic capacitors with the introduction of the AEC-Q200 qualified ZTU series. The new hybrid capacitor family offers higher reliability and ruggedness for demanding applications.

The ZTU series sets new standards with its ripple current and capacitance range, while guaranteeing circuit safety at one of the highest temperature ranges available in the market, according to the company.

The ZTU series offers a rated voltage range from 25 V to 35 VDC and a capacitance range from 220 µF to 560 µF. The hybrid capacitors offer an 80% increase in ripple current capability in comparison to the ZC series.

The new hybrid capacitors can handle shocks of up to 30G, compared to standard parts at 10G. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 135°C.

The ZTU has been tested for 4000 hours at 125°C and 135°C, making it suited for applications that need high temperature tolerance and high current capability, said the company. Applications include DC/DC or AC/DC inverters, robotics, rectifier circuits, and, in particular, for automotive applications.

Panasonic offers a vibration-proof version of the ZTU capacitors in both 8-mm and 10-mm diameter versions. Data sheets can be found here.
