Parallel-port module offers low-cost
thermocouple DAQ
The AD-TDA8 thermocouple data acquisition module connects to the parallel
port of a PC to provide eight input channels, sampling rates up to 15
samples/s,
a temperature resolution of ±1°C, and an accuracy of
±1°C
at 25°C. The module supports type J (–50° to 800°C), K
(–50° to 1,000°C), and T (–25° to 500°C)
thermocouples.
Included software offers a Windows-based control panel, support for
TestPoint, and drivers for writing programs in Visual Basic, C/C++, and
Delphi. An optional screw terminal panel plugs into the module for
terminating
thermocouple leads. (AD-TDA8, $170; screw terminal panel, $30–available
