Partnership yields in-cabin sensing reference design

Eyeris, Omnivision and Leopard Imaging will demo their new production reference design for advanced in-cabin sensing at CES 2024.

Eyeris Technologies, Inc., Omnivision and Leopard Imaging, Inc. have jointly developed a production reference design for advanced in-cabin sensing for improved safety and comfort in the automobile cabin. The reference design is based on Eyeris’ advanced monocular three-dimensional (3D) sensing AI software algorithm that is used in Leopard Imaging’s 5-megapixel (MP) backside illuminated (BSI) global shutter (GS) camera, which integrates Omnivision’s OX05B image sensor and OAX4600 image signal processor (ISP).

Leopard Imaging will showcase the advanced depth-aware driver monitoring system (DMS) and occupant monitoring system (OMS) reference design at CES 2024, Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall, in booth #9529. Eyeris will showcase its latest technology by appointment only at CES.

Claimed as the first production reference design in the automotive industry that targets depth-aware in-cabin sensing data, Eyeris’ monocular 3D sensing AI technology enables any 2D image sensor, including the latest RGB-IR sensors, to provide depth-aware whole-cabin sensing including DMS and OMS data. The design also integrates Omnivision’s OX05B 5MP RGB-IR image sensor and OAX4600 ISP to process the monocular 3D sensing AI data, while leveraging Leopard Imaging’s camera design-house capabilities.

Together, the hardware and technologies deliver a turnkey solution that delivers AI-based depth-aware DMS and OMS data, which is processed on the RGB-IR image sensor and ISP processing platform and dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for latency-free image processing.
