Pc-board software runs under Windows
The TangoPro series software has a 32-bit architecture running under
Windows 3.1. Designed with object programming techniques, it consists of a
pc-board layout tool, optional Autorouter, and Library Manager that
integrates schematic and pc-board component data. The software's database
supports grids with resolutions down to 0.0001 in. Dialogue boxes and
menus assist the user through design, and a graphical icon-based toolbar
provides one-click access to often-used commands. The designer can define
every board attribute, including grids, tracks, pads, polygon fills, text,
and layers. Up to 99 layers can be supported, 88 definable by the user
without limit to the number of copper planes. The software supports
netlists from most schematic-capture packages and has on-line design rule
checking. The optional autorouter has a rip-up-and-reconstruct algorithm
that allows 100% routing. The Library Manager has patterns for
through–hole and surface-mount components. New component patterns can be
created on the fly. Tango-Pro runs on 386 or 486 computers with 8 Mbytes
of RAM (16 Mbytes with the autorouter), at least 10 Mbytes of free
hard-disk space, and a mouse. ($5,950; with autorouter, $10,950
