PCI Express switches feature quad DMA

The ExpressLane PEX 8619 (16 lanes, 16 ports), PEX 8615 (12 lanes, 12 ports), and PEX 8609 (eight lanes, eight ports) PCI Express Gen 2-compliant switches feature an integrated DMA engine. Each IC provides up to 3 Gbits/s of transparent switch throughput and four DMA channels supporting high-speed data transfers between I/O devices connected to any of the available ports.

The devices have a maximum of 140 ns latency and take as little as 1.2 W typ (8609). They provide QoS via two virtual channels (VCs) per port, and spread-spectrum clock isolation via dual clock domains. (From $14.25 to $28.55 ea/prod qty samples available 4th qtr.)
