PCI-X GbE board features bypass mode

The PCI-8246 two-port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-X card provides bypass capability to directly connect the GbE signals on its two ports when the system is powered down or has crashed. This bypass feature is accomplished by using a mechanical relay array, and a watchdog timer can be programmed to automatically control the relay and enable bypass mode.

The half-sized low-profile card auto-negotiates 10/100/1,000 Mbits/s with full- and half-duplex communications. It supports 32- and 64-bit PCI and PCI-X buses at up to 133 MHz. It has two RJ-45 connectors and uses Cat-5 four-pair wiring for up to 100 m in normal mode, 40 m in bypass mode. ($190 ea/OEM qty—available now.)
