The Emerald-MM-8EL-XT high performance PCIe/104 OneBank serial I/O module offers eight serial ports and optional 2,500 V opto-isolation. The card has a PCIe octal UART with 256-byte TX/RX FIFOs and auto RS-485 transmit control with RS-485, -422, or -232 operation and programmable 120 Ω line termination.
The board runs from 5 V and features intelligent power management that limits power-up inrush current and enables power-down of unused ports. On opto-isolated versions, each port is independently isolated and all ports have +/-15KV ESD protection. An MCU manages and stores configuration settings, with all configuration done via software – no jumpers. The 90 x 96 mm card operates over -40° to 85°C and single unit pricing starts at $675.
