PCIe peripheral chip supports serial, parallel

The MCS9901CV single-lane PCI Express (PCIe) to peripheral controller supports serial, parallel, ISA, and USB interfaces. It can provide 21 combinations of serial, parallel, USB, and ISA interfaces and is fully compliant with the PCIe base specification revision 1.0a.

The device provides four 16C550/16C550Ex compatible UART channels, dual 256-byte FIFOs in each serial port, and supports RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422 modes and slow IrDA. The chip uses less than 1 W typ, and provides bidirectional speeds from 50 bps to 16 Mbits/s with full serial modem control and hardware/software flow control. ($10 ea/10,000—available now.)
