PCIe switches have advanced features

The PEX 8617 and PEX 8613 PCIe 2.0 switch ICs feature nontransparent port functionality that isolates the address domains between two hosts, which enables the switches’ dual virtual channels to provide two separate data paths for memory traffic with enhanced QoS.

The 8617 has 16 lanes, four ports, and the 8613 12 lanes, three ports. The devices feature dual spread-spectrum clocks, end-to-end CRC (ECRC) protection and Poison bit support, come in 19 x 19-mm 324-pin PBGA packages, and take 1.6 or 1.4 W typ.
