PCIe-to-FireWire chip yields one-chip solution

The XIO2213A PCI Express to 1394B (FireWire) controller is said to be the fastest available, with packet throughput exceeding 87 Mbytes/s. The chip supports three 1394 A/B cable ports at 100, 200, 400, and 800 Mbits/s.

The IC has a 100-MHz differential PCIe common reference clock or 125-MHz single-ended reference clock and PCIe adaptive equalization. The chip’s translation bridge is fully compliant with the PCIe base specification and the internal dedicated PCI bus operates at 32 bits/66 MHz and includes a prefetch agent.
