The PCIM conference, considered to be the best European power show, takes place May 18 to 22 in Nuremberg, Germany. Get there if you want to attend tutorials that inform you about what’s new in soft-switching topologies, power factor correction, EMC design for converters, control of power converters, design with MOSFET and IGBT modules, high-frequency linear magnetics, and grid integration of renewable energies.
Dan Kinzer Chief Technology Officer and Senior VP for Technology at Fairchild Semiconductor provides the first keynote speech on Tuesday. He will talk about the advances in power semiconductors and how they work in some critical appliations. The keynote on Wednesday will be given by Professor Alex Huang of North Carolina State University. His talk is about the high-voltage SiC power devices and their impact on future power delivery systems. Thursday, the keynote will be presented by Professor Enrique Dede, who will talk about electric vehicles, the charging modes, standards, and the different power converter topologies used for EVs. Exhibit hall hours extend from 9am to 5pm Tuesday through Thursday. For more information http://www.mesago.de/en/PCIM/The_conference/Welcome/index.htm
