PCIM Europe

PCIM (Power Conversion Intelligent Motion) Europe is considered by many to be the best power-related trade show in Europe and a counterpart of the APEC show in the U.S. It is Europe’s best meeting place for specialists in power electronics, and its applications in intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management. You can find out about the latest developments of power semiconductors, passive components, products for thermal management, new materials, and sensors, as well as servo-technology and the wide area of power quality.

PCIM takes place in the Messe Hall near Nuremberg, Germany, from Sunday, May 12, to Thursday, May 16, where you will have access to about 400 exhibitors in halls 7 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. You can attend any of the six tutorials on Sunday including sessions that cover dc/dc converters, EMC in power systems, SMPS topology, current-mode control, PFC developments, and wireless power. Tutorials start on Monday and you can select from ten different topics including soft switching trends, dc/dc converters, EM design, three-phase inverters, magnetics, batteries, renewable energy, IGBT gate drives, SMPS design, and IGBT modules. Tuesday starts with an awards ceremony for best papers. A keynote address follows by Jörg Dorn, head of R&D for Siemens; his topic is “High-voltage dc: state of the art and future trends.”
