The LTC4264 PoE interface controller for high-power powered devices (PDs) allows users to develop power-hungry applications beyond the IEEE 802.3af-mandated 12.95-W limit, while still maintaining backward compatibility. The part can deliver up to 35 W for two-pair systems and as much as 70 W for four-pair systems.
Housed in a 12-pin DFN package, the part can handle 750 mA with an on-resistance of 55 Ω typ, 0.8 Ω max. Additional features include flexible auxiliary power options, precision dual current limit with disable, onboard 25-kΩ signature resistor with disable, undervoltage lockout, and complete thermal overload protection.
