PFC offline regulator needs no optoisolator

The LT3798 is an isolated flyback controller with single-stage active PFC. It has a power factor of >0.97, which is accomplished by actively modulating the input current, eliminating the need for an extra switching power stage and associated components. In addition, no optoisolator or signal transformer is required for feedback since the output voltage is sensed from the primary-side flyback signal.

PFC offline regulator needs no optoisolator

The flyback controller features efficiency greater than 86% that can be achieved with output power levels up to 100 W. The device can operate from 90 to 277-Vac range, and can be scaled higher or lower. It can also be designed into high-input-voltage dc applications, targeting industrial, EV/EHV automotive, mining, and medical applications. It operates from –40° to 125°C, while the LT3798H is tested and guaranteed to operate from a –40° to 150°C ($2.25 ea/1,000 — available now.)
