Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI), the leading provider of Silicon Tuners, today announced TDA18271HD, a new worldwide multi-standard hybrid Silicon Tuner IC capable of receiving both analog and digital terrestrial broadcasts. This product is benefiting the PC-TV market with fast time-to-market, space savings, HD picture quality and significant cost advantages. The new Silicon Tuner now enables, for example, smaller sized Personal Video Recording (PVR) capable PC based systems to have low power consumption, a key advantage in portable USB peripherals.
