Pickering Electronics has unveiled a new series of ultra-high-density reed relays. Extending its range of Series 124 TM reed relays, the newest addition measures 4 x 4 mm with a low profile of 9.5 mm high. The small size makes them suitable for high-speed test systems.
Available in 1 Form A with 3-V or 5-V coil options, the Series 124 reed relays feature a sputtered ruthenium switch rated at 5 W, 0.5 A, and very fast operating times, typically 80 µs, which makes them well-suited for high-density applications such as automatic test equipment and semiconductor switching matrices or multiplexers.
“These are the same reed switches as used in the long-established Pickering Series 111, 111P, and 117 but are orientated vertically within the package, facilitating such high density,” said the company.
These single-pole relays are the second series to be launched within Pickering’s new ultra-high-density product line. Pickering also offers the Series 120 devices rated up to 1.0 A at 20 W with a higher profile height of 15.5 mm.
