Piezoelectric MEMS oscillators enable high-performance apps
Offered as the world’s first piezoelectric MEMS (pMEMS) oscillators for high-performance applications, the 4M series feature less than 1 ps of jitter and are an ideal replacement for traditional 6-pin crystal-based oscillators. These LVDS/LVPECL parts are based on the company’s CrystalFree pMEMS resonator technology, which enables the company to rapidly factory-program the desired output frequency without the need to fine-tune expensive crystals.
In addition, because the nominal resonator frequency of pMEMS is much higher than quartz crystal, 4M oscillators are able to achieve higher frequencies at lower cost without sacrificing critical performance. The oscillators operate with ±50-ppm frequency accuracy over the wide industrial temperature range of –40° to 85°C and support LVDS and LVPECL at frequencies of up to 625 MHz.
