Suited for battery packs in hybrid vehicles, the WDBR Series planar power resistors offer surge power ratings of 0.5, 1.0, 2, 3, 5 7 kW and can bypass the highest level of cell capacity, allowing the battery to hold a higher overall charge. Available in 1.94 x 1.41 in. to 4 x 6 in. sizes, the resistors havd an insulated steel 0.035- or 0.059-in. substrate with a printed thick-film resistive element that provides direct transfer of thermal energy to an external heat sink, enabling temperature cycling up to 400°C.

Standard values include 12, 22, 47, 100, and 150 Ω, with tolerances to ±10%, 2,500 Vdc minimum dielectric withstanding voltage and inductance values from ≤3 to ≤6 µH. The resistors also suit bleeder circuits or onboard generators. (Contact company for pricing and availability.)
