Suited for FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) radar systems in automotive, aerospace, industrial, and communications applications, the ADF4158 PLL synthesizer allows programmability and configurability without dependence on VCO linearity. Additional features include a 25-bit modulus that allows subhertz frequency resolution, frequency and phase modulation capability, and ramp delay, ramp frequency readback, and ramp interruption.
The 6.1-GHz part generates parabolic ramp, ramp with frequency-shift keying (FSK) superimposed, and ramp with two different sweep rates. Operating from a 2.7 to 3.3-V power supply, the PLL is housed in a 24-lead LFCSP. ($4.88 ea/1,000 — available now.)
