The QuickUSB QUSB2 plug-in module makes it easy to add a 480-Mbit/s USB 2.0 port to new or existing products. The module has parallel and serial ports that are connected to the embedded design.
The 2 x 1.5-in. circuit board has a 8- or 16-bit high-speed parallel port, up to five general-purpose 8-bit parallel I/O ports, two RS-232 ports, one I2 C master port, one SPI master port, one FPGA configuration port (Altera PS or Xilinx SS) and 2 Kbytes of nonvolatile memory. The boards library provides user-callable software functions that transfer data to and from the ports over the USB interface. No prior knowledge of USB is required. ($149 — available now.)
