PMC-Sierra and DASAN Networks Announce Major EPON Equipment Deployment Contract with KT (Korea Telecom)
PMC-Sierra, Inc. (Nasdaq:PMCS), a leading provider of broadband communications and storage semiconductors, and DASAN Networks, Inc., Korea's leading supplier of broadband access equipment, today announced that KT (Korea Telecom) has selected DASAN Networks for deployment of Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) equipment in the greater metropolitan area of Seoul, Korea. DASAN's gigabit per second EPON solution, based on PMC-Sierra's FTTH chip set using its GigaPASS(TM) architecture, is capable of delivering premium-grade triple-play services – voice, data and video – to Korea's growing FTTH subscriber base.
