PMC-Sierra Announces Advanced Digital Predistortion Solution Targeted at Wireless Remote Radio Head Architectures
PMC-Sierra, Inc. introduced its third generation Digital Predistortion (DPD) solution that enables wireless infrastructure Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and carriers to deploy cost-effective Remote Radio Head (RRH) solutions with significant capital and operational savings.
Combined with Doherty Power Amplifiers, PMC-Sierra's PALADIN(R) 20 Drives Greater Than 40% Power Efficiencies with 20 MHz of Bandwidth for 3G and WiMAX, cutting Energy Costs by 50%
Offering full software compatibility with PMC-Sierra's PALADIN(R) family, the PM7820 PALADIN 20:
- Powers new Doherty power amplifier (PA) architectures to achieve power efficiencies in excess of 40 percent, more than doubling the efficiency of currently deployed Class A/B LDMOS PAs;
- Enables integration into space-constrained RRH architectures through its 23mm x 23mm footprint; etc. . .
