PMIC offers 24°C/W thermal resistance
The WM8325 power management subsystem is a high-current monolithic power management IC (PMIC) that targets portable multimedia applications including smart books, tablets, e-books, media players and smart phones. It features four programmable dc/dc converters, one that delivers up to 2.5 A, and has 24oC/W thermal resistance. The PMIC is packaged in a QFN device and integrates eleven LDO regulators, four of which are low-noise for supplying sensitive analog subsystems.
The PMIC has an on-chip regulator to provide power for always-on PMIC functions such as register map and the real-time clock, as well as offering autonomous backup battery switchover. A 12-bit auxiliary analog to digital converter supports a wide range of applications for both internal and external analog sampling. Its crystal oscillator and internal RC oscillator both generate all clock signals for autonomous system start-up and processor clocking. ($6.59 ea/1,000 — available now.)
