The MAX17113 5 x 5-mm PMIC integrates a boost regulator, a buck regulator, adjustable positive and negative charge-pump regulators, and a p-channel MOSFET switch. It uses a high-voltage BiCMOS process and integrates all function blocks required to power the LCD TV source drivers, gate drivers, and panel logic.
The boost and buck regulators have a selectable 450- or 600-kHz switching frequency internal 20-V power MOSFETs. The boost regulator delivers output voltages up to 20 V from an 8 to 16.5-V input while achieving 85% efficiency. The buck regulator has an adjustable 1.5 to 5-V output. The integrated charge-pump regulators provide the TFT gate-driver supply voltage. ($1.30 ea/1,000 available now.)
