PMICs targets ARM-based processors

The ACT8937 patent-pending power management unit family is optimized for Samsung’s S5PC100, S5PC110 and S5PV210 processors. It features three dc/dc step-down and four low-noise, low-dropout linear regulators along with a battery-charging solution and the ActivePath system-power selection function. The device suits battery-powered mobile devices.

The three dc/dc converters use a 2MHz fixed-frequency, current-mode PWM control architecture that requires a minimum number of external components. Two dc/dc converters are capable of supplying up to 900-mA output current, while the third supports up to 700 mA.
