The PMP7499 converter provides a high-power Power Over Ethernet (POE) output of 12V/5A.
The use of an external hot swap FET for increased efficiency is do-able thanks to the the TPS2379 PD controller. The UCC2897A PWM controller, meanwhile, is used to implement a high-efficiency active clamp forward converter.
TI's PMP7499 has 90% high efficiency with POE supply and 93.6% with adapter supply. It has isolated forward with synchronous rectifier. The circuit design of PMP7499 is full-functional tested and recommended for new designs.
Applications include IP network cameras, among others.
