PoE controllers end external power need

The STHS4257 and STHS237x families of power-over-Ethernet (PoE) interface controllers comply with the IEEE 802.3af specification for powered devices (PD). The controllers help eliminate the 110/220-Vac power lines to many wired LAN devices such as VoIP (Voice over IP) phones and security cameras.

Each device consists of the IEEE 802.3af-compliant interface to the PoE-powered RJ-45 wall socket. The controllers integrate a high-voltage power MOSFET and have the capability to accept transients as high as 100 V. (Ea/1,000: STHS4257, $1.35; STHS237x, $1.01available now.)
