Suited for IP telephony, remote security cameras, card readers, and point-of-sale terminals, the 100-V LM5073 PoE PD controller features programmable dc current limit up to 800 mA. It integrates a programmable interface port including a hot-swap controller that exceeds the standard IEEE 802.af specifications, allowing designers to operate PoE appliances at power levels of 30 W or more.

Offered in a 14-pin TSSOP with exposed pad for improved thermal performance, the LM5073 integrates a 100-V 700-mΩ n-channel MOSFET, as well as the PD signature and undervoltage lockout resistors. It also provides configurable front and rear auxiliary inputs and complementary control outputs. ($1.30 ea/1,000—available now.)
