Phoenix Contact connects with customers

Already well known for their connectivity products, Phoenix Contact hopes its new 15,000-sq-ft. Customer Technology Center (CTC) will enhance customer connections. Located in Houston, TX, the CTC features:

>> A demonstration room features four display islands, with each addressing how the company’s products address issues relating to power, connection, control, and communications.

>> A training room holds up to 50 people in a classroom setting complete with moveable tables, multiple network connections, and advanced presentation hardware and A/V software.

>> An application lab offers a working test and design space where company engineers can provide customer support, from proof of concept review to configuration of switch networks and radio schemes to troubleshooting field wiring challenges.

>> A warehouse houses some of the products most frequently used by regional customers.

The company seems to have thought of everything. The building also has a fully working shower—for those times when engineers are pulling late-nighters, I guess—and a meditation room that is supportive of and sensitive to faith-based requirements such as prayer.

Point to Point

Officials chose the location because Houston is “the center of the energy and process industries in the United States, and one of the engineering capitals of the world.” For more information, check out my post at the Electronic Products’ blog site, EEbeat (http://eebeat.com).
