PoL regulators feature 4 x 5-mm footprint

The IR38(53)(56)(59) family of SupIRBuck integrated (PoL) voltage regulators, available in a 4 x 5 mm PQFN package, are 33% smaller than competitive solutions, and suit server, storage, telecom, netcom and set-top box applications. The devices, integrate a controller with a MOSFETs and deliver 4-, 6- and 9-A output current, respectively, to achieve more than 96% peak efficiency.

The PoL voltage regulators feature overvoltage protection, an external synchronization option to reduce noise and EMI in multirail systems, a true output-voltage-sensing option for adjustable PGOOD, and OV threshold setting. The devices eliminate the need for dual-stage PoL conversion and save energy, size, and cost by operating directly from 12 VIN. The regulators have a programmable switching frequencies up to 1.5 MHz.
