Portable phase angle voltmeter employs DSP The Model 6010 portable
phase-angle voltmeter offers very wide bandwidth (10 Hz to 10 kHz) and
high accuracy (0.2% amplitude, 0.5 ° phase). The meter operates for
up to 2.5 hours on a single charge of its internal batteries. It accepts
full-scale inputs of up to 15 Vrms and measures frequency, total rms, and
in-phase or quadrature voltage (to a resolution of 1 mV). Values are
displayed in rms level or ratio. The Model 6010 employs a digital signal
processing auto-correlation technique to automatically track the input
frequency throughout the operating range of the instrument without user
interaction and independent of the harmonic content of the signals.
Uncorrelated signals such as noise and stray pick-up are virtually
eliminated. The database, keyboard, display, and optional IEEE-488 and
RS-232 interfaces are controlled by a Motorola 32-bit MCU providing
very-high-speed interfacing and high-precision real-time math functions.
