Portable thermal recorder provides up to four channels
This portable four-channel thermal recorder, the Dash IV/Model XL,
records one to four separate or overlapping channels of waveform data on a
5-1/2-in.-wide chart. The recorder comes in a rugged carrying case and
weighs only 18 lb. The recorder's wide input range of 0.5 to 250 V
eliminates the need for external signal conditioning, making it suitable
for a very wide range of applications. Analog inputs are single-ended and
isolated. Chart speeds range up to 125 mm/s and chart frequency response
from dc to 2.5 kHz. Two annotation features, system log channel and
channel ID, greatly simplify chart interpolation. The first feature
automatically prints chart speed, time, and date in the chart margin; the
second prints channel numbers directly over corresponding waveforms for
easy identification when operating in the recorder's overlapping mode.
Other features include tri-level timing marks, a 40-Hz filter, and a
separate event channel that can be controlled locally or externally. The
Dash IV/Model XL operates from the 120-Vac line or from 12 to 18 Vdc. ($3,
