Position sensor thrives in harsh environments
The Model AMS22 noncontacting rotary position sensor uses magnetic Hall-effect technology to enable high performance in severe temperature, vibration, or contamination conditions. The position sensor suits applications such as actuator feedback, camera and antenna positioning, and precision industrial and medical-diagnostic applications; it particularly suits uses in which equipment that is dormant for extended periods must provide precise position data on demand.
The sensor can operate in temperatures from −40°C to 125°C and has a rotational life of 50×106 shaft revolutions. It has an IP50 rating and can withstand vibrations to 15 G and shock to 50 G. The sensor has a single 0.1 to 4.9-V output with an effective electrical output of 340°, and is programmable from 10° to 360° in 10° increments. Output resolution is 12 bits and independent linearity is 0.5% or 0.3%.($12.50 ea / 10,000 — available now).
