Power block provides 481 W/cubic inches power density

The OKLP-X/60-W12A-C, an addition to the OKLP range of Power Block products, offers a 60-A solution. It measures 25.4 x 12.7 x 12.2-mm, offering a power density of up to 481 W/in.3 The power device sits between a discrete PoL and a complete non-isolated buck converter module. It is a non-isolated buck converter without the PWM controller and provides a single package solution that incorporates all of the power handling components. pspo06_Murata_OKLPX60_may2015

The 60-A power block provides a regulated 0.6 to 3.63-Vdc output of up to 60 A from a 7 to 13.2-Vdc input and is suited for use in PoL applications. Efficiency, rated at 12 Vin and 3.3 Vout, is typically 95%. Most analog or digital PWM controllers can be used with the device. Reference designs are available using Texas Instrument’s TPS40425, 2-phase, stackable PMBus synchronous buck controller. The power device is suited for powering FPGAs, ASICs, and microprocessors and providing I/O voltages in intermediate bus architecture applications.
