Power line carrier modem uses Cortex-M0

The NCN49597 power line carrier (PLC) modem SoC targets e-metering, home automation, solar energy monitoring, and lighting control. The IC uses a dual 4800-baud S-FSK channel technology and has a low power 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 processor and a precision analog front-end.

The QFN52 packaged device is compliant with the IEC61334-5-1 standard and adds field re-programmability, smart synchronization, and automatic half baud rate detection. It operates in half-duplex at programmable carrier frequencies in CENELEC A-band from 9 to 95 KHz and B−Band from 95 to 125 HHz using a 3.3 V supply. Temperature Range is −40° to 80°C and current consumption is 60 to 80 ma. ($4.99 ea/2,500 – samples available now.)
