Infineon Technologies has extended its 1,200-V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 modules with new current ratings. Completing the Easy 1B and 2B portfolio, the family offers power solutions up to 11 kW in PIMs and up to 22 kW in six-pack topologies for industrial-drive applications.
The latest additions allow customers to either increase the power for the Easy 2B module by replacing a TRENCHSTOP IGBT4 with IGBT7 technology or reduce the footprint for the same power by replacing an Easy 2B IGBT4 with an Easy 1B IGBT7 in specific cases.
IGBT7 devices are backward-pin-compatible with the previous-generation IGBT4 modules. This allows manufacturers to reduce their design cycle when developing new inverter platforms.
The TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 chips, compared to previous generations, provide higher power density, greatly reduced losses, and a high level of controllability for drive applications, said Infineon. They have lower static losses with the on-state voltage reduced by 20% and have been designed for softer switching. The power modules feature a maximum allowed overload junction temperature of 175°C.
The 1,200-V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 EasyPIM and EasyPACK portfolio are available now. Links to product datasheets, pricing, and other information can be found in the product selection table.
