Power modules address industrial and ITE applications

XP Power’s new series of rugged chassis- and DIN-rail mount DC/DC converters simplify installation in a variety of industrial and ITE applications

By Gina Roos, editor-in-chief

XP Power offers two new series of wide-input range chassis- and DIN-rail mount DC/DC converters that simplify installation in a variety of industrial and information technology equipment (ITE) applications. The rugged DTE0 (6 W) and DTE10 (10 W) series operate over a -40°C to 105°C temperature range, and deliver full rated power at temperatures up to 80°C.

The DC/DC converters offer a 4:1 input range, which provides a wide tolerance for fluctuating supplies. With nominal inputs of 12/24 VDC and 24/48 VDC, the power modules cover inputs between 9.0 VDC and 75.0 VDC. Safety features including input undervoltage, short circuit, and overload protection.

The devices are supplied fully potted in a chassis-mount format with screw terminals for faster mounting and connection. A DIN-rail mount is available for use in control cabinets and household consumer products. They feature a power good LED indicator to provide at-a-glance confirmation of correct operation.

The DC/DC converters are IEC/UL/cUL 62368-1 safety approved, and offer 3.0 kVDC isolation between the supply and load. They comply with EN55032 Class A emissions with no external components. This means no additional filtering is required for EMC compliance, said XP Power.

The DTE06 series is priced at $31.20 for 500-piece orders, and is available from XP Power, or its authorized distributors Allied Electronics, Digi-Key, Mouser, and Newark.
