Power modules simplify design for FPGAs, DSPs
The LMZ-series offer the first three products in the Simple Switcher power module family. which provides an integrated solution with the efficiency of a synchronous switching regulator and the simplicity of a linear regulator, eliminating the external inductor. The modules simplify power supply design for FPGAs, microprocessors, DSPs, and other PoL conversions targeting medical, broadcast video, communications, industrial, and military applications. Its patent-pending packaging technology enables the modules to meet the requirements of the EN55022 (CISPR22) Class B radiated emission standard.
The size and lead pitch of the power modules enable the use of pick-and-place manufacturing employed with standard TO-263 packages. Each module is pin-to-pin compatible with other family members. The LMZ10504 supports 4-A max load currents with an input voltage range from 2.95 to 5.5 V. The LMZ12003 supports maximum load currents of 3 A with an input voltage range from 4.5 to 20 V. The LMZ14203 supports 3-A maximum load currents with an input voltage range from 6 to 42 V. The power modules operate from –40° to 125°C. They are available in 7-lead, 10.16 x 13.77 x 4.57-mm packages, and feature a 20°C/W thermal resistance. (Ea/500: LMZ10504, $7.10; LMZ12003, $7.25; LMZ14203, $9.50 — available now.)
