Offer fast response times, hybrid cable management, and high-tech cooling
The Signature series power supplies offer units with 650- and 850-W outputs. The series features several cutting-edge innovations that the company presents as having never been offered in a consumer power supply. The supplies use active dc/dc voltage regulation instead of the standard passive magnetic amplifier method, providing shorter transient response times and better system stability. Transient response times can be as low as 10 µs compared to the typical 1,000 µs.
The power supply series uses a cooling system with PWM fan design. The PWM-controlled fan runs at speeds as low as 15% of maximum, compared to 40% for other designs. The power supply units use high-reliability components including capacitors and fans, and use a dual-power circuit board (PCB) layout to optimize airflow, as well as to allow for heavier more robust components. The units provide a hybrid advanced cable management system to provide optimal power distribution and airflow. Mandatory cables are hardwired to reduce resistance and energy waste.
The power supplies pass 80 PLUS certification for energy efficiency. The supplies also received the 80 PLUS Bronze distinction for maintaining 82% efficiency at 20% and 100% of rated load and 85% efficiency at 50% of rated load. (650-W model: $249; 850-W mo: $299 available now.)
