Bel Fuse, Inc. has expanded its power-supply portfolio with a new 3.6-kW Titanium-efficient AC/DC front-end power supply. The new TET3600-48-104RA targets high-performance data-center, network, industrial and broadcast applications.
The TET3600-48-104RA can convert up to 277 VAC into a main adjustable (42-58 VDC) output and has a DC input voltage range of 240-380 VDC. It offers a power density of 56 W/in3 and achieves Titanium efficiency (>97% efficient at 50% load). The efficiency and increased system reliability is thanks to the power supply’s resonant soft-switching techniques and synchronous rectification, said Bel Fuse.
An active OR-ing device on the power supply’s output ensures no reverse load current, making it suited for operation in redundant power systems, said the company.
The power supplies are hot swappable and up to six units can be connected in parallel with active digital current sharing. An always-on 12-V, 30-W standby output is also provided. The series meets international safety standards and features the CE-Mark for the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD).
Additional features include system communications via the I2C/Power Management Bus protocol or CAN for full monitoring and limited control of the supply, voltages, current, power and temperature. Standard protection features include overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature, which are fault captured via an onboard Blackbox. There is a single rear-side connector for input and output power and signaling and full digital controls for improved performance.
TET3600-48-104RA samples are currently available on request from Bel Fuse. The power supply also is available from Arrow, Digi-Key and Mouser. Housed in a compact package, the device measures 104 × 40 × 256 mm (4.09 × 1.57 × 10.08 in.).
